ABOUT THE WATCH

"The St. Louis Schools Watch was founded on the premises that parental and community involvement are needed for good schools to flourish, and that public participation is a cornerstone of democracy. The Watch offers information and analysis that we hope contributes to a public debate over what changes are necessary to improve St. Louis public schools, and what works."

I have always been amazed (speaking of several districts) when an extensive, formal search with several candidates is made, and they finally decide on......this?

Dr. Bourisaw has some of the best credentials and degrees from highly recognized universities and programs. She is better qualified that the last four superintendents were.

Give her a chance to bring her experience and education to the fore.

If the new Superintendents has so much going on, why did she get fired from Fox School District? She should be voted in just like all the other Superintendents in the past. I don't feel she is better than any of them, she doesn't know how to listen, she just takes the ball and run. I was at the meeting, and I saw how everyone was acting, and it was not a pretty site to see.

I do know this, when Hammonds was super, we were two point from accredidation.

Now we are more than 30 points away.

Hammonds was forced out by a mayor back board. So who is really to blame?? Do some reading people especially if you have kids in the system.

Dont just listen to crap in the media.
